27 International Maritime English Conference

The Netherlands Maritime Institute of Technology would like to thank all delegates who have helped to make IMEC 27 a success. It was a pleasure to host everyone at our Educity campus and we look forward to welcoming you back to Johor Bahru soon!

Message From The Founder

"Maritime education is evolving at a rapid pace, establishing a solid foundation for the development of sustainable workforce capability across the maritime industry. The innovative and revolutionary frameworks that underpin the changes are hinged upon the effective use of English as the main communication tool. English is essential as it ensures that all operations associated with the maritime field are carried out with precision and with minimal error.

Throughout the years, the IMEC has become one of the most important annual gatherings in maritime education sphere in which experts from various institutions and organisations converge to address new progress in Maritime English pedagogy, covering a broad range of topics. Distinguished speakers will communicate the latest developments during featured lectures and important issues will be thoroughly examined throughout the conference with the goal of providing the best recommendations to improve teaching and learning methodologies in Maritime English programme.

This year, NMIT has the good fortune to host the 27th IMEC. NMIT is proud to contribute to the expansion of innovative researches that are done to help affirm Maritime English's status as the medium of communication among mariners. Through the absorbing discussions that will be carried out at our Educity campus in Johor, we at NMIT hope to provide a memorable experience for all the delegates. We sincerely hope that you will all find your way to Johor in October 2015 to actively participate in the conference, to meet and interact with friends and colleagues from all over the world and to enjoy Malaysian hospitality.

Please join us at Educity in October as we welcome the 27th IMEC to Malaysia. "
